Le’Veon Bell Wants $50 Million for First Two Years of Contract

  • CBS Sports is reporting that free-agent Le’Veon Bell is seeking $50 million for the first two years of his next NFL contract.  The report also suggests that the NY Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccanneers are interested in the running back.  The Jets have nearly $100 million in cap space for the 2019 season.
  • If Bell, a three-time Pro-Bowler, were granted $50 million for his first two years, it would far surpass Todd Gurley’s four-year, $60 million extension with the Rams.  Gurley currently holds the highest paid contract for a running back.
  • Is Bell worth his new contract demands?  Should the Jets grab Bell ASAP?
