24 hours before the Philadelphia Eagles were slated to play in just their third-ever Super Bowl in franchise history, the league held its NFL Honors to celebrate the top athletes from the past season.
In attendance that night was one Jerry Jones who wasn’t particularly happy to see yet another NFC East team in the Super Bowl that wasn’t the Dallas Cowboys. In fact, the Cowboys owner was seemingly losing sleep over having to watch his rival with the chance to win their first Super Bowl.
“The muffled voice you have been hearing is me screaming in my pillow over not being here and seeing Philadelphia,” Jones said at the NFL Honors on Saturday night.
The Eagles would go on to play an outstanding game, defeating the New England Patriots 41-33 to capture their first Lombardi trophy. That Jerry Jones’ pillow might be ripped in half now.
Jones also stated he is not happy and not satisfied with a Cowboys franchise that has not reached the Super Bowl since 1995.
